For many parents, getting their kids in the bath can be a challenge.  Early on, I ensured that the experience was positive by using bubbles, toys, and lots of color.  My kids are now the ones that actually look forward to bath time just so they can splash each other (and their mommy!).

Every experience, even the most routine like taking a bath, is an opportunity to teach and inspire children.  Water play enlists at least 3 of a child's senses (unless they try to drink it like mine have done in the past and/or you use scented bath bubbles rounding that out to 5) and adding a few toys and accessories can make bath time that much more enjoyable. We recently added Ariel's Floating Fountain to our collection of bath toys which gives my daughter one more way to splash her brother!

It wasn't until my daughter's 3rd year that she really became fascinated with Disney Princesses. When she opened up Disney's latest mermaid-inspired splash toy, she squealed with delight and had an impromptu desire to take a bath.  Inspired by Disney's The Little Mermaid, this bath-time playset floats, spins, and sprays water and inspires children to recreate their own under-the-sea adventures.

We put this playset together immediately and in less than 5 minutes, my daughter was splashing and playing.  Included with the playset is a beautiful Ariel doll which little girls can place on the swings or slide.  Since there is room for two princesses to swing, Mattel offers additional characters including Ariel's sisters.  Once in the tub, the playset will float and children can squeeze the pump so that water sprays from the top of the fountain and the mouths of the two fish in the pool.

Mattel's new Disney bath time toys are making a splash with my kids.  If you have a little boy, you'll want to check out the Cars World Grand Prix Splash Speedway.  What's neat about these figures is that they are the first to be able to race on water!  The set includes 1 Hydro Wheels Lightning McQueen vehicle and a bendable, expandable track with tubes that float in water.

Both toys are super affordable at just under $20!
